Croquet In The City
Ready, Set, Swing!
It was a beautiful, sunny day for our 4th Croquet in the City Tournament held at Lawrence Park Lawn Bowling & Croquet Club. Friends, business leaders and other community representatives donned traditional whites for an old-fashioned game of croquet on Sept 16th, to raise funds for New Visions Toronto. 20 teams participated in this fun-filled tournament which raised $5,700! The event ran all day with the amazing organizational skills of Phil and Suzanne. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!
As players got the hang of how to play the game, the competition levels increased and intensified. There was a lot of laughter and story swapping during the lunch break and the cold draught beer was a nice relief from the sun. Special thank you to Lawrence Park Lawn Bowling & Croquet Club volunteers for their expertise and guidance through- out the day and for hosting the event.
This milestone event is not typical fundraiser but we guarantee it to be one of the most memorable fundraising experiences for all those who attended. Spectators and players alike enjoyed a delicious breakfast, catered lunch and cold draught beverages.
Last year the tournament was won by 2 young men, Kevin Hibbard and Hugh Smith. This year their mothers, Brenda Kerr and Beverly Smith defended their title and won this year’s tournament. Congratulations Beverly and Brenda!
